One Year ago today, October 14, 2012, Felix Baumgartner jumped from an altitude of 24 miles. He became the first human to travel faster than sound without the aid of any vehicle. 65 years earlier, in 1947, Chuck Yeager piloted the Bell V-1 rocket plane to a speed exceeding 662 miles per hour. That is the speed of sound for the altitude at which he was flying. Yeager became the first man to fly faster than sound. In 1953 Yeager piloted an X-1A to a speed more than twice the speed of sound.
These are amazing accomplishments, but I believe each of us will do more. Paul wrote to the Church at Corinth, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” (I Cor 15:52)
Paul also gave an explanation to the Church at Thessalonica in I Thess 4: 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
It seems to me all this is going to happen in the twinkling of an eye. That is fast! That would outrun a Ferrari, the SST and the Enterprise!
When The LORD returns (and he will … we have that HOPE) we will be moving on up and doing so quickly. We will be changed and will do so quickly.
I firmly believe that we will be witnesses to the Second Coming of the LORD. We will either be with Him as he comes from GLORY or we will be resurrected to witness and partake in the event, or we will be here on Earth as witnesses.
Scripture tells us “Every eye shall behold Him.” Now I can explain that scientifically with modern communications. CNN, MSNBC, FOXNEWS, Everybody will have cameras and broadcasting and I can promise every TV will be tuned to the event. That being said, I don’t think that is what the writer had in mind. I believe that each person on this planet will see this even unfold with their own eyes and without the aid of modern communication.
Whatever you personally believe, you have a question to answer. Will you be witnessing this event as one of God’s Children or will you still be a non-believer? I ask that simply because I believe that once this event takes place, There will be no chance for salvation. Some will disagree, but do we want to take that chance, when TODAY is the day of Salvation, NOW is the accepted Time.
